Good to know

Vans’ mid-top Half Cab Pro sneakers are available in men’s and women’s sizing regardless the style. Expect to get a more cushiony interior with its UltraCush HD sockliner which is thick on the heel for added protection and thin towards the forefoot for enhanced boardfeel. The upper has an extra layer of Duracap that fortifies highly prone areas from immediate wear and tear. And its bendable  Vans rubber waffle sole apparently offers dynamic grip on any surface.

The mid-top Vans Half Cab Pro is a bona fide skateboarding sneaker built with features such as a padded collar, reinforced forefoot, and removable cushiony insole to buttress the feet from impacts and blows. This heritage skate style sneaker maintains the noble form of the Half Cab with its strong upper and single-wrap foxing tape that runs around the midsole.

By default, its chunky exterior goes well with one’s most dependable skate pants, from skinny to baggy, and even shorts. Non-skaters looking for a sneaker with an authentic street skating character relies on the Half Cab Pro to give them that off-the-wall kind of laidback look.

Support and stability are said to be among the best assets of the mid-top Vans Half Cab Pro that has lured street skating riders and bike motocross lovers worldwide for many years. Outwardly, its tech-loaded interior, reinforced body, coupled with a grippy outsole give them more confidence to perform tricks and enjoy the adventures of these sports.

Vans Half Cab Pro is a sequel of the Vans Half Cab, literally made to take on the challenges of skateboarding. These top-notch Half Cab varieties are regarded as pillars in the skate world for several years and deemed as seriously decent pairs of kicks that are popular with BMX bikers too.

The trails of these Half Cab sneakers can be traced way back to the late 1980s. Before seeing the Vans Half Cab come to light in 1992 a team-up between this notable California-based skateboarding shoe brand and influential vertical skater Steve Caballero was forged during the 1980s.

Steve was then sporting other brands such as Converse, Air Jordan, and Puma when he was tapped by Van Doren brothers to advocate a skateboarding shoe that would later become his very first signature silhouette -- the 1988 Caballero.

  The Caballero

This high-top performance footwear with a DNA reminiscent of Vans SK8-Hi was designed for vertical skateboarding, a kind of outdoor activity that allows skaters to transition from a horizontal plane to a vertical slope while exhibiting tricks.

It was love at first sight between the Vans Steve Caballero model and vertical skateboarding disciples. However, in the early 1990s more riders were turning towards street skating while the formerly popular vert skateboarding was slowly losing its speed in the market.

At that point, people began trimming the collar height of their coveted Vans Steve Caballero to give them more freedom of movement around the ankles and aid them in tackling the demand of street skateboarding.

  Vans Half Cab

Steve followed what most skaters were doing, and after cutting away the high upper portions of his three shoes, he went straight up to Vans and pitched the idea of creating a mid-top version of this shoe. In 2005 the Half Cab was born. This retooled skate-specific sneaker is built with a suede cover, a padded tongue, and vulcanized rubber outsole.

Although this instantly captivated the hearts of street skating riders, turning its black and white

colorway an instant icon on the parkway, pavements, and alleys, the more daring skateboarders demanded an enhanced cushioned footbed to support their arches.

In 2007, Vans went to cupsole and introduced the Vans Half Cab Pro. This upgraded design with enhanced performance features provides the  utmost impact cushioning, support, and grip. This legit skateboarding shoe has crossed boundaries of style and function as it is also hailed as a celebrated BMX shoe.
