Size and fit

Another unisex model from the US skate shoe brand, Vans, comes in the form of the Vans Bold NI sneakers. The fit is true to size.

The Vans Bold NI on feet gives a comfortable and supportive fit, thanks to its UltraCush Lite drop-in insoles and padded collar. It features a lace-up closure with flat cotton laces for an adjustable fit.

Vans Bold NI Style

Vans brought back the Vans Bold NI shoe with modern upgrades while retaining its retro appeal. Designed with a clean façade and classic look, this low-top suits both the ladies and the gents who prefer either retro kicks for making a fashion statement or those who dig functional casual shoes for day-to-night use. The upper is plain and simple without any fancy detailing. It is made of soft suede with tonal T-toe overlay, contrasting white leather Jazz Stripes and cotton laces, and minimalist midsole.

Aside from a wide array of colorways in different hues of solid colors like red, blue, black, red-orange, and more, the Vans Bold NI also comes in a Checkerboard version called officially the Vans Checkerboard Bold NI.

Notable Features

Considered a reissue of a classic model, the current release of the Vans Bold NI sneakers features distinct upgrades that improve not just its look but also its level of comfort. First off the list is the added UltraCush Lite linings for enhanced comfort. The rework also flaunts an updated foxing tape, T-toe design, and tonal stitching.

The Vans UltraCush Lite technology is a CMEVA (Compression Molded Ethyl Vinyl Acetate)-based low profile insole built to give an ultralight ride to wearers. It is anatomically contoured to the wearer's foot to provide quick and responsive cushioning.

Vans Bold NI History

When it comes to skate shoes, Vans is one of the few brands that first comes into the mind of many. It has been a standard choice of amateur and professional skateboarders, as well as casual wearers since it was founded in 1966 by brothers Paul and Jim Van Doren.

One of the shoes produced by the brand is the Vans Bold NI or otherwise known as the Bold New Issue. Although considered a classic model from the brand's archive, it was re-released as part of the Vans New Issue Collection in late 2018. The reintroduction of the classic silhouette from the brand’s archive retained the distinct retro aesthetic of the original but with notable modern upgrades.

The shoe gives the nod to the brand's heritage with its minimalist and versatile façade. The suede upper is plain-looking and only accented with the brand's signature iconic side stripe in an oversized manner and contrasting color. The initial release of the Vans Bold NI in October 2018 included the shoe's classic black, red, and blue colorways.
