Who should buy the Under Armour Infil Hike GTX
The Infil Hike GTX is a fantastic outdoor companion in terms of looks and performance. It is a solid option if you:
- Prefer a hiking boot that is designed with the lightness of a basketball shoe yet allows hiking enthusiasts to negotiate the challenging terrain.
- Prefer a hiking boot that keeps the heel in place and bolsters the footwear’s overall support.
- Prefer a hiking boot that delivers adequate grip on rough and slippery surfaces.
Excellent traction over challenging terrain
The Under Armour Infil Hike GTX waterproof boot uses a Vibram outsole with MegaGrip compound to prevent wearers from losing their footing over challenging terrain.
Delivers sufficient slip resistance
V-shaped lugs are engineered at opposing angles along its forefoot and rearfoot borders to deliver sufficient slip resistance during ascents and descents. The blocky lugs at its center only add to its grip effectiveness.
Excellent ground protection, cushioning, and stability
This UA hiker has a full-length midsole made of EVA (or ethylene-vinyl acetate) for ground protection, cushioning, and stability. Under Armour designers placed a wishbone TPU plate within its frame to improve the footwear’s torsional rigidity, thereby allowing wearers to achieve a steady balance on the trickier parts of the trail.
Odor and foot fungus free
Contributing to the underfoot cushioning brought forth by the midsole is the boot’s default sock liner. It is imbued with Cupron’s Anti-Fungal Pro Fibers, rendering it capable of dealing with odor and eliminating 99.9% of athlete’s foot fungus.
Breathable and weatherproof
Abrasion-resistant textile is what mostly makes up the Infil Hike GTX’s over-the-ankle upper. The Anafoam overlay built around it gives it improved support, while the rubber overlay engineered at its heel enhances its durability.
On the tip of its forefoot is a molded rubber cap for extra toe protection. Its liner is built with a breathable Gore-Tex membrane, allowing the shoe to remain airy yet watertight in inclement weather and wet environments.
Easy to wear
The upper’s lace-up closure consists of fabric loops and metallic hooks for eyelets and string-like synthetic laces. Its tongue and heel come with pull loops to help speed up the on-and-off process.
