The modifications of the Charged Rogue series’ second iteration target unmatched support, better lockdown, and superior impact absorption. To achieve these, Under Armour made sure to incorporate only the best features in the shoe’s design.

One of the updated technical elements of the Charged Rogue 2 is its redesigned midsole. It now sports a dual midsole—a blend of Micro G® and Charged Cushioning®. With such composition, the shoe enables comfort and responsiveness.

For added support, a firm heel counter is also introduced. It keeps the foot locked in place, especially during long runs.

The rest of the shoe’s makeup mirrors its predecessor’s components. Already having a good reputation in the market, not many changes are needed to up the shoe’s performance.

Size and fit

The Under Armour Charged Rogue 2 is configured using the standard sizing measurement for both men and women. Thus, athletes can get a pair with their usual size preference. To secure a precise fit and size, it is recommended for purchasers to try the fit of the shoe first or go through user reviews before ordering.

For the fit of the Charged Rogue 2, several components affect this. The engineered mesh upper of the shoe envelopes around the shape and contours of the foot, heightening security. To complement the upper textile, a lace-up closure is added. This provides a customized fit for the wearer. Adding support within the foot chamber is the removable Ortholite® sockliner of the neutral running shoe. Another added feature of the runner is its external heel counter which gives a lockdown fit. Lastly, a heel cup is furnished to the shoe to keep the foot in place when running.

Located at the Under Armour Charged Rogue 2’s high-impact zones is its solid rubber outsole. The overall engineering of the outsole focuses on amplifying grip and durability without adding bulk. This is especially noticeable given all the flex grooves implemented. With the outsole cuts, there is also more room for natural foot flex, extending the comfort of the wearer. Because of the impact-absorbing attribute of the rubber outsole, the foot is protected from strain or injury.

Presumably, the most prominent refinement made to the shoe is its reconfigured midsole composition. Unlike its predecessor, the Charged Rogue 2 from Under Armour features a dual midsole. This is a combination of the brand’s renowned Micro G® and Charged Cushioning®.

The Micro G® is Under Armour’s cushioning system which features a foam that’s 30% lighter than the standard midsole foams. Because of its low profile, it allows the runner to have a better ground feel. This, in turn, enhances the ground control of the wearer, allowing quick changes in direction. The foam is also engineered to have higher bounce and responsiveness.

A staple to all models in the Charged Rogue collection, the Charged Cushioning® equips the shoe with decreased impact and higher bounce back. Because of its shock-mitigating qualities, the midsole foam ensures that the foot is well-protected from any stress.

Combined together, these midsole technologies promote heightened responsiveness, comfort, and protection without adding weight.

For pronounced comfort within the midsole compartment, a removable Ortholite® sockliner is embedded. It cushions the underfoot and helps mitigate shock during impact.

Just like the Adidas Ultraboost and Brooks Adrenaline GTS 19, the Under Armour Charged Rogue 2 has an engineered mesh upper. This upper material is highly pliable, allowing it to adapt to the shape of the foot. This promotes a better fit and lockdown, preventing premature shoe removal. Moreover, the engineered mesh has strategic perforations. These are responsible for wicking away moisture and acting as the ventilation system of the shoe. Because these allow air into the foot chamber, bacteria build-up is obstructed, preventing foot odor.

Cohering to the mesh textile of the shoe is its classic lace-up closure system. This lacing system allows the athlete to customize the fit of the shoe.

Within the platform, a soft textile lining is implemented. This supplies an irritation-free running experience. Moreover, a seamless and anatomically constructed heel cup is also incorporated, keeping the foot secured no matter the distance.

Since the shoe promises better support, a sturdy external heel counter is integrated into the shoe’s composition. It keeps the foot locked securely in place.

Similar to its predecessor, the Charged Rogue 2 exhibits reflective elements on its upper. These encourage better visibility, especially during low-light hours.
