Good to know

  • The upper is made up of a two-toned engineered mesh textile. This construction allows proper ventilation without compromising the support delivered on key areas of the foot. The engineered mesh is also lightweight, so it doesn’t weigh the shoe down.
  • On the midsole is the Charged Cushioning technology by Under Armour. This midsole material was made to convert the force the foot receives, when landing, into a responsive force. This is why the platform is named Charged Cushioning since it aims to make the runner feel “charged” during runs.
  • Inside, a molded EVA sock liner was added to enhance the responsiveness of the midsole. It comes in contact with the foot directly and follows its natural contours, thereby improving the feeling of comfort underfoot.
  • The outsole features solid rubber on high impact areas. It doesn’t cover the entire bottom of the shoe which helps in reducing the shoe’s weight. Because of this design, the shoe maintains its lightweight composition without compromising the protection and durability it provides to runners.

The special version of the Under Armour Charged Bandit 4 comes in standard shoe lengths. Runners will be able to get a pair in their usual size preferences. The width of the shoe also comes in standard measurements with B-medium available for women and then D-medium for men.

Solid rubber is an elastomeric material that can withstand high amounts of beating and stress. Because of its durability, it’s commonly tough and stiff. So that this outsole material doesn’t add significant weight to the shoe, it was only placed on high-wear areas to deliver protection and the right amount of traction.

Underneath, the tread pattern is composed of segmented rectangular shapes with rounded sides, while the midfoot and backfoot areas have strategically placed rubbers that allow the natural anatomy of the foot to move with ease. Several flex grooves, as well as a deep transition line, enable better flexibility and movement.

The midsole is equipped with Under Armour’s Charged Cushioning technology. This one-piece structure is a type of platform that was made to improve the absorption of the impact the foot garners during the landing phase of the running cycle. Then, it converts this forces into a bursting response, making the runner feel a bounce or spring with every stride.

The sock liner on this shoe is molded which means that it was formed with the natural contours of the underfoot in mind. This enhances the comfort from the bottom of the foot, allowing runners to feel like the fit was customized.

The upper is made of lightweight engineered mesh. Without adding significant weight to the shoe, this material allows air to pass, aerating the foot and allowing heat to escape. This prevents hot spots from forming while the runner is in motion. Also, engineered mesh delivers the right amount of support on areas that need it most. The support may not be significant, but the hold it has makes runners feel snug and secure.

To help improve a runner’s visibility in low-light conditions, the upper features 360° reflectivity. This attribute makes the Under Armour Charged Bandit 4 Team suitable for running at night or in gloomy weather where sunlight is limited.

There is an insole within the shoe that’s removable. This extra layer of cushioning enhances the fit of the shoe, as well as its responsiveness. Because it is removable, runners can easily replace it with a custom orthotic of their choosing.

There is an external heel counter on the back for additional support. The primary purpose of this is to minimally immobilize the heel, preventing it from moving side to side during runs. It doesn’t stabilize the heel totally. However, it does improve the snugness of the upper.
