UGG Olli History

Although the history of UGG boots traces back to the 1800s, the UGG brand was first founded in 1978 by surfer Brian Smith in Southern California. Bringing some sheepskin boots from Australia, it became a favorite of the local surfer community. Soon, it became an icon for the casual and relaxed lifestyle culture of the people in Southern California.

The popularity was not limited to the surfing community as other communities and culture fell in love with the boots and began sporting a pair on the streets of bigger cities. Even celebrities and fashion icons caught wind of this sensation. One of which is Oprah. In 2000, she loved the UGG boots that she bought 350 pairs for her staff and featured it on her show Oprah's Favorite Things. With that, the brand gained more recognition from around the world.

Over time, the brand grew and gained a foothold in the fashion industry. Its product line expanded to more than just boots. Various collections that feature other footwear and apparel were released and continued providing luxury and comfort. The Olli is no exception. This sneaker has a sophisticated look that leaves a statement. It is ideal for a casual lifestyle such as work or play.
