  • The Topo Athletic Cor was crafted as a multi-purpose shoe for fitness training, light running, and walking. The trainer builds on the success of the Topo Athletic ST-2, a minimalist running shoe. It borrows the latter’s low-profile midsole with a 0-mm drop for stability and enhanced underfoot proprioception.
  • The upper unit sports a simplistic look with a one-piece mesh upper. It uses elasticized gore instead of a tongue for easy on-and-off. A zigzagged hook-and-loop Velcro strap is added on the midfoot for a secure foothold.

The Topo Athletic Cor is available in women’s US sizes 6 to 12 as well as in men’s US 7 to 15. A Size Chart on the brand’s official website helps in converting one’s foot length into the corresponding US, EU, and UK sizing schemes. Widthwise, the shoe comes in D - Medium and B - Medium profiles for men and women respectively. The Cor is designed to have a wide forefoot to give the toes ample room for splaying naturally. The fit is adjusted with the help of a hook-and-loop strap on the midfoot.

The Topo Athletic Cor makes use of an intricate tread pattern on its outsole unit. The treads vary in shapes and sizes and intersperse with flex grooves to make the platform pliable in multiple directions.

Parts of the outsole are covered with carbon rubber. This material is grippier and more durable than regular rubber. It is strategically placed in the forefoot and the heel sections to deliver protection and traction where it is most needed.

The Topo Athletic Cor features a moderately plush EVA midsole to give the wearer a layer of protective cushioning. This material is also made flexible to accommodate the bending of the foot during a training session.

There is a 0-mm heel-to-toe differential which implies that the heel is placed on the same level as the forefoot. Such positioning of the foot helps it stay steady during high-intensity workouts and weightlifting.

The stack height of the midsole and the outsole combined measures at 16 mm. This thickness puts the foot close to the ground, offering better feedback from the surface but at the same time and guarding the underfoot against sharp objects.

The trainer aims to give athletes a second-skin feel by employing a lightweight one-piece mesh upper. The structure of the mesh allows it to wrap the foot firmly and yet flex easily whenever needed. The ventilation pores allow fresh air to come inside the foot chamber and keep it free of odor and heat.

An elastic gore is embedded into the collar instead of a tongue. Its stretchable nature allows the foot to effortlessly slide in and out of the shoe. However, it remains taut and braces the instep when the footwear is on the wearer.

The foothold is further strengthened by a firm synthetic hook-and-loop strap. It has a shape of a zigzag to increase the area of support. Once the Velcro is fastened, the strap locks the midfoot in place.
