TOMS is one of the world-renowned companies that has a very colorful history. The brand was conceived as its owner and founder, Blake Mycoskie, saw the need of several Argentinian children for decent footwear.
After going on a vacation to Argentina, Mycoskie brought home to the US his dream of providing shoes for the less fortunate children. Thus, TOMS, which is short for “Tomorrow’s Shoes,” was born.
The company vowed to give a pair of shoes for every pair sold.
As of 2012, TOMS has given away more than 2 million pairs of shoes. It has also expanded its product line to include several lace-up sneakers, including the TOMS Leandro.
