Size and fit

The Euro Hiker Waterproof has an upper made of Cordura nylon fabric that wraps the foot for a snug fit. This boot also uses a traditional lace-up closure that lets you adjust the tightness whenever needed.

Outsole

Timberland is known for creating quality and sustainable outsoles. All their footwear products are made with rubber outsoles that contain recycled materials.

The sole of the Euro Hiker Waterproof boots features different lug shapes. The segmentation on the edges extends to the sides to provide additional grip when walking downhill or uphill. The lugs on the heel section are fairly deep, giving the boot incredible slip-resistance.

Midsole

Like many other hiking boots, the waterproof version of the Euro Hiker has a midsole made of EVA. It’s a synthetic foam that is touted for being durable, cushiony, and lightweight. This boot has a dual-density EVA midsole which means that some parts are softer than the others. This is to ensure that the shoe provides support and comfort where needed.

Upper

The shoe upper is made with a combination of textile and Cordura nylon fabric which are highly resistant to abrasion, tears, and scuff. They are also very elastic, which helps the wearer achieve a snug fit.

There is a waterproof membrane lining the insides of the shoe, which prevents water from entering. Lastly, the boot features a gusseted tongue treated with a water-resistant coating to further resist water entry.
