Size and fit

The Sperry Striper II CVO Baja is available in men’s sizes ranging from 4 to 16, all in medium width. Its low-top profile allows the ankles to move more freely. Also, a traditional lace-up system, with genuine rawhide laces running through rust-proof metal eyelets, secures in the foot.

Sperry Striper II Baja CVO Style

Notable Features

The Sperry Men's Striper II CVO Baja sneaker features a woven canvas upper, which is textured to resemble a beach blanket. It is also breathable as befits its breezy, summer vibe. Underfoot, Sperry’s patented Wave-Siped non-marking rubber outsole offers a trustworthy grip, be it on dry or wet surfaces.

Sperry Striper II Baja CVO History

In the mid-1930s, Sperry launched the Canvas Circular Vamp Oxford, famously known as the CVO. Being the world’s first boat shoe, it enjoyed an immediate success, which virtually lasts until today. The CVO was a product of direct utility and simplicity, but not without a unique, versatile style.

In the 1960s, the preppy subculture began wearing the line of CVOs, who found their clean, laidback style as casual and fashionable. They paired the CVOs with chinos, madras shorts, oxford shirts, and loose blazers. What was at first only worn at sea is now seen in the city streets and university campuses. That’s when the CVOs hit the mainstream and became a preppy classic.

One of the brand’s latest releases, the Sperry Striper II Baja CVO is part of the long history. It is keeping the heritage of that first CVO going while blazing into new paths.

Additional Info

  • A removable Memory Foam footbed extends across the whole midsole, giving the wearer a full underfoot cushioning.
  • The upper and the sole are securely bonded through vulcanization.
