Updates to Skechers GOmeb Speed 6 Hyper

  • The Skechers GOmeb Speed 6 Hyper is the newest addition to the GOmeb line of speed shoes. It is a reliable light and fast racing flat that is also designed to be sleek and snug.
  • This latest version now features a full-length Hyper Burst® midsole that made the shoe lighter and more responsive compared to its predecessor. The Hyper Burst midsole helps boost the running efficiency without sacrificing the cushioning quality.
  • The rubber outsole incorporated in this Skechers running shoe is now thicker to provide additional durability and protection.
  • The upper unit of this lightweight running shoe has also been completely redesigned to provide a snugger fit and breathable comfort.

Size and fit

Just like the Nike Zoom Fly SP, the Skechers GOmeb Speed 6 Hyper is a unisex shoe, thus can be worn by men and women. Women are advised to get a 1.5 size down from their usual sizing preference. However, fitting the shoe first is a good thing to consider to ensure a comfortable fit. Consumers may also check the general feedback about sizing before purchasing a pair of shoes.

The technical components that affect the fit of the shoe are the narrow toe box and forefoot sections. GOmeb Speed 6 Hyper also uses the traditional lacing system to allow the user to easily adjust the tightness and looseness around the shoe.

Providing a good amount of traction is the Goodyear® rubber that is strategically placed into the outsole unit of the GOmeb Speed 6 Hyper. Skechers has teamed up with Goodyear to produce a rubber outsole that delivers excellent coverage and durability. The outsole pattern has also been improved to enhance the gripping performance of the shoe.

GOmeb Speed 6 Hyper features the Hyper Burst® midsole technology. This new midsole foam was formed using a 'Super Critical™' process that produces an incredibly lightweight and flexible material, which is highly durable and responsive.  The Hyper Burst® technology is an ultra-light cushioning material that also offers reliable underfoot protection.

Providing structure and stability is the injected nylon midfoot plate. This material is positioned between the midsole and outsole units to deliver a quick response and added protection.

This high-performance running shoe utilizes a new external Pebax® heel counter that securely locks the rearfoot onto the platform, keeping the foot from sliding up and down while running. Pebax® is a thermoplastic elastomer that is composed of flexible polyether and rigid polyamide. This material is designed for extremely high-performance sportswear.

The shoe’s mid-foot strike zone promotes efficiency in each stride by encouraging a midfoot strike.

The manufacturers have strategically placed a translucent mesh vamp that is paired with a lightweight rip-stop nylon mesh. This component is highly durable and breathable. It allows the air to continuously flow in and out of the shoe, keeping the foot dry and cool throughout the running session.
