The Skechers Energy Afterburn is a lifestyle sneaker that doubles as a fitness shoe. It has a thick sole made of a cushioned insole and shock-absorbing EVA midsole giving it a super comfortable fit and lots of support. The durable non-slip flexible rubber outsole delivers superb traction.
Its comfortable upper is made of smooth leather and leather overlays with stitching accents in various patterns that make it durable and give it a sporty athletic design. It has perforations on the toe box to allow ventilation. Skechers Sport branding appears on the tongue and a signature S logo on the lateral side. Soft fabric shoe lining and padded collar and tongue give it a great in-shoe feel.
Skechers Energy Afterburn History
The California-based company Skechers was founded by Robert Greenberg in 1992. The brand was originally intended to distribute Dr. Martens but after a year and a lawsuit, Greenberg has a change of direction. He decided to turn Skechers into his own brand of designing and marketing footwear. He found a niche market in cleats and skate shoes which started the brand.
They moved on to designing and releasing trendy and casual sneakers targeting primarily 19-40-year-old men and women. With Greenberg’s marketing and sales executive experience working for L.A. Gear, he was able to replicate that into his own brand Skechers and left a shoemaking legacy for his son. For more than 25 years, the brand has been at the forefront of design and innovation in the footwear industry diversifying by providing shoes for golf, casual, working, training, and more.
Now, Skechers' portfolio resulted in the creation of two divisions: performance shoes and lifestyle shoes. As part of the lifestyle sneakers division, the Skechers Energy line consists of lifestyle sneakers that double as a fitness shoe to adapt to the modern and fast-paced way of life.
