Like any other road cycling shoe, Bont footwear is supposed to fit very snug, like second-skin.
That’s why there is a high chance that you’ll need a different size in Bont shoes compared to you regular running or street sneakers.
Start by measuring your foot length and width precisely. Follow this guide to help you.
Tip: Before checking your Bont size in the chart below, add 5 to 7 mm to your actual foot length. This will ensure that you have a little room in front of your toes, as the chart measurements refer to the exact length of the shoe’s interior.

Width options in Bont cycling shoes
Bont offers its bike shoe selection in three width types:
- Standard Fit
- Narrow Fit
- Wide Fit
Thus, it is equally important to measure the widest part of your feet (around the ball of the foot) and go with measurements of the wider foot.
Tip: Similar to the length, Bont width measurements reflect the exact in-shoe width in the forefoot. Add 1 mm to your foot width before consulting the chart below.

The anatomical fit of Bont shoes
Proper fit does not mean tight.
Most cycling shoe brands are designed to have a narrow, pointy toebox that is similar to dress shoes. However, Bont claims its footwear to be anatomically correct, offering a more accommodating forefoot.
The brand aims to give enough space to keep all the toes straight inside the shoe. That way there is no compression, especially in the big toe, which also helps to prevent foot deformations like bunions.
Why is it important?
- your toes need room to splay slightly when you ride
- feet need more space as they start swelling on long rides
- you may want to put on thicker socks on colder days
How to heat mold Bont shoes
To achieve a customized fit in the comfort of your own home, Bont constructs its footwear to be heat moldable. That means you can put your new pair of Bont shoes into the oven and literally bake it to fit your unique foot shape.
Here is how it’s done:
- Before you start, remove cleats, screws, laces, and insoles from the shoes.
- Put the shoes on a baking sheet and place them inside the oven for 20 min with the temperature set at 160 F (70 C).
- Take out the shoes, put the insoles and laces back in, and put on a pair of socks.
- Tighten the shoes and stand up with your full weight (10-15 min).
- If there are any remaining pressure points, put a stiff object inside the shoe and push to help it stretch out.
- Leave the shoes to cool down and try them on after ~10 min.
- If the fit is still tight, try repeating the process.
