-The Scarpa Ribelle HD is built with a combination of enhanced mobility and mountain-specific protection in mind. Its ability to keep moisture at bay is courtesy of Hdry.

-Scarpa shoemakers built the Ribelle HD with two company-owned technologies: Activ Fit and Active Impact. The former ups the shoe’s comfort while promising to grant wearers improved performance over a variety of terrain. The latter, on the other hand, does pretty much what its name implies—it makes ground impact safe by bolstering the boot’s shock-absorbing capability.

-The Ribelle HD comes imbued with a thermoregulation technology called 37.5. This piece of tech can keep the foot at the ideal temperature of 37.5 degrees Celsius, no matter if the condition is cold or hot.

Scarpa’s Ribelle HD is a high-cut mountaineering boot for men and women. Its quick lacing offers lockdown security. This closure system has a cuff-to-toe construction, which allows for a more focused fit, especially around the forefoot.

The Scarpa Ribelle HD comes engineered with a Vibram outsole called Precision Tech Roll for traction. It is based on the Mont compound, which promises to produce and maintain grip even in extremely biting conditions. Its designers furnished it with grooved lugs to give mountaineers more latching power on loose surfaces. They also gave it an aggressive heel brake for extra slip resistance on descents.

Cushioning and stability are provisions sourced from the Ribelle HD’s dual-density midsole. It is made with a combination of polyurethane (PU) and thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). Scarpa engineers gave it a stout heel zone for shock mitigation. They also topped it with a cushy footbed called Activ Plus for additional comfort and support underfoot.

What shields the foot in the Scarpa Ribelle HD is a high-top shell made with a combination of high-grade 2.6-mm thick suede leather from Perwanger and Microtech fabric. Both its tongue and collar are lined with plush padding for added comfort. Access to and from its comfy interior is made relatively easy with the boot’s heavy-duty synthetic heel pull loop.

Its lower region is fully randed to grant the wearer climbing traction and abrasion protection. Within its confines is an HDry laminate, which prevents virtually all sorts of wetness from getting inside the boot. This waterproof membrane also makes the footgear’s interior sufficiently breathable.

The Ribelle HD’s eyelets are a combination of plated eyelets, closed loops, and open hooks. Their utility is made complete with a long-wearing synthetic lace set through them.

  • The Ribelle HD is compatible with semi-automatic crampons (also known as C2 bindings).
