Use - The configuration of the Ballista is specially built for sprints and mid-distance races, ranging from 800 meters to 1,500 meters.

Spike Plate - Running full-length in the Ballista’s outsole is its Pebax® plate. It contributes to the overall lightweight construction of the shoe as it is composed of a light polymer. It gives flexibility to the shoe for unrestricted movement.

Flaunting the signature of the series, the Saucony Ballista is built for speed and lightness. Adhering to such qualities is the shoe’s full-length Pebax® plate and XT LITE heel material. These components are extremely lightweight and provide great traction.

The Flex Film overlay bonded to the upper gives the shoe structural integrity and support. The rebound property of the shoe is delivered by Saucony’s proprietary technology- the SSL EVA midsole.

The Saucony Ballista is available in standard sizing scheme for both male and female purchasers. To get the perfect pair of this running shoe, it is recommended that you try on the fit of the shoe first or go through various user feedback.

Adapting to the contours and natural shape of the foot is the breathable open mesh upper of the shoe, allowing both ventilation in the foot chamber and a secure fit. The lace-up closure system of the Ballista gives it a customizable fit. Lastly, structural integrity is delivered with the Flex Film overlay fused to the upper.

Being Saucony’s first track and field shoe to have multiple compounds in its outsole, the Ballista aims to supplement lightness and underfoot rigidity. That is why both the Pebax® plate and XT LITE material are furnished to the outsole.

The Pebax® plate is a full-length polymer plate known for being rigid yet flexible. It employs minimal weight, thus contributing to the overall lightweight construction of the shoe. On the other hand, the XT LITE material is particularly engineered into the heel to provide lightweight yet durable traction.

One notable feature of the Ballista is its SSL EVA midsole- a midsole innovation from Saucony itself. The SSL EVA is a premium midsole that is lightweight and provides sufficient cushioning to the foot, thus delivering in-shoe comfort. It also enhances the rebounding property of the shoe and its durability.

A healthy and fresh foot environment is essential when running; that is why an open mesh upper is utilized by the shoe. The perforations of the mesh material allow sufficient air circulation into the foot chamber. Additionally, this upper material is extremely lightweight, and it conforms to the natural shape of the foot, thus providing security.

For added support into the shoe, Flex Film overlay, which is made out of a thin film, is added to the upper. Such upper design is made to enhance the structural integrity of the shoe. It also furthers the shoe’s snug fit.

For a customizable fit, a traditional lace-up closure system is integrated into the upper. The same closure system is welded into the Adidas Adizero Finesse's upper.
