Who should buy the Salomon Alphacross Blast

Salomon Alphacross Blast is meant for moderate, softer terrain and occasional use (around once a week). It is also stated to benefit heel strikers the most.

You can get this model in a waterproof GTX version too.

Where is Alphacross Blast in the Salomon Cross collection

Alphacross is the cheapest and least rugged shoe in the brand’s Cross series. It also features a more minimal upper and traditional lacing system.

Nearly identical to the original Alphacross, the Blast iteration carries over all the essential components of this beginner-friendly shoe.

For a slightly more off-road version, consider Supercross Blast. And if you intend to do some advanced training or racing on technical terrain, see Wildcross or Speedcross.

Highlights of the Alphacross Blast

  • Aggressive 5-mm Chevron lugs for grip on loose ground
  • EnergyCell EVA absorbs shock from each step
  • Ortholite sockliner adds underfoot padding
  • Ripstop upper doesn’t tear easily

“Generous fit" means a bit more space in the forefoot compared to the more narrow fit of most Salomon trail shoes
