5 reasons not to buy

Bottom line

Many of the brand’s long-term customers were disappointed that the Reebok Club MEMT is flimsier and not as comfortable as some of the older Reebok models. Also, the majority were not impressed by the Memory Tech sock liner as it was too thin and too soft. Overall, it is still a good shoe given how stylish and classic it is, but it probably is not the right shoe for those who need to be on their feet all day or those who do a lot of walking.

Good to know

The Reebok Club MEMT is available in men’s sizes from 6.5 to 15, including half sizes, in D (Medium) and 4E (Extra Wide) width. The low-cut construction of this shoe enables freedom in movement while the lace up closure provides a secure fit.

The Reebok Club MEMT follows the silhouette of the classic Reebok Club C which was originally designed as a performance tennis shoe, but has since become one of the favorite classics for casual and streetwear.  Minimally designed, it oozes a basic yet fashionable style that anyone, at any age, can rock.

The Reebok Club MEMT features a minimal, classic design with a soft leather material on the upper. It has clean overlays with stitching details and the toe box is perforated for more breathability and added comfort. At first glance, it looks just the same as the Reebok Club C. However, as you look closely, the outer sole of this shoe is not stitched into the upper, but glued. Also prominent details are the brandings through the Reebok window box on the side panels and the Reebok Starcrest logo on the padded tongue.

In the midst of the hype for tennis shoes in 1985, Reebok re-branded the classic Reebok Revenge Plus to conform to tennis club’s dress codes and the Reebok Club C came to spotlight. The C stands for “Champion”. Built to perform, it is minimally designed with a dominant white color and contrasting green accents, leather upper, perforated toe box, and the Reebok branding on the lateral sides and the tongue. Since then, it has become one of the highly-sought classics with many variations released in the subsequent years that followed.

Come 2015, Reebok introduced another shoe that follows the silhouette of the classic Reebok Club C. Though inspired by a tennis shoe, it is more inclined to function as a lifestyle shoe. The overall look is similar, but what sets them apart is the introduction of the Reebok’s technology, known as Memory Tech, in the insole of the Reebok Club MEMT. Another difference is the way that the outer sole and the upper of these models are put together. The Reebok Club MEMT got away with the stitching method used in the Club C and relied on glue instead.

  • The Reebok Club MEMT is also available in a gum rubber variation called as the Reebok Club MEMT Gum Cup.
  • The Memory Tech is a technology developed by Reebok to provide superior comfort through a memory foam. It provides custom cushioning that complies with a foot’s unique shape.
