It makes for a fantastic multi-pitch shoe especially if you have wide feet.
-A fresh new take on the Red Chili Spirit VCR, the Fusion VCR is engineered to help climbers pull off hooking maneuvers with as much efficiency as possible. It is a performance-oriented shoe that encourages wearers to improve their technique in a variety of climbing situations.
-It comes with a large enough toe patch to give the user better purchase on toe hooks. For sufficient underfoot slip resistance, on the other hand, the featured rock shoe sports a Vibram outsole.
-Just like its inspiration (a.k.a. the Spirit VCR), this offering is also built with Impact Zone. This piece of tech proactively mitigates shock on impact.
Downturn. The Fusion VCR has a middle-of-the-road downward camber, making it one of Red Chili’s moderate climbing shoes. With it, fans of the send can mount on edges and get into slots without requiring too much legwork. While, categorically, kicks of this sort are more performance-oriented than neutral ones, they are still capable of providing lasting comfort, ideal for multi-pitch projects.
Applications. This moderately downturned climbing shoe is engineered for trad, sport, and bouldering pursuits, whether indoors or outdoors. It is a tool capable of ascending vertical faces, particularly where cracks are involved. Intermediate climbers are its target audience.
Red Chili’s Fusion VCR is a low-top climbing shoe for men and women. Its inside has a neutral shape, which means the foot can lie flat in it with minimal-to-no midfoot pressure. As it sports a leather upper, stretch can be expected of it. A secure and personalized fit is courtesy of the rock shoe’s Velcro strapping system.
Midsole. When it comes to support underfoot, wearers of the Fusion VCR have the shoe’s sturdy Powerflex midsole to thank. It is engineered in such a way that makes foot placements as precise as possible.
Outsole. Thanks to the Fusion VCR’s Vibram XS Grip outsole, senders can mount on a variety of surfaces with enough traction. It is made of a kind of rubber compound that provides enhanced slip resistance on limestone and granite. 4.5 mm is its overall thickness.
What confines the foot in the Red Chili Fusion VCR is a low-cut upper made of authentic leather. It comes with a mesh tongue for extra breathability. For on-and-off assistance, Red Chili designers furnished it with a pair of pull loops at the heel.
It is imbued with a rubber panel around the forefoot and a tensioned rand at the heel for toe-hooking and heel-hooking grip, respectively. The rest of its lower perimeter is sufficiently randed to give users ample lateral traction.
Completing the Fusion VCR’s upper equation is its Velcro closure. It comprises of a pair of opposing hook-and-loop straps and securing buckles.
