Good to know
Designed for the streets and built for the courts, the Puma Uproar is a nice-looking and great-performing basketball shoe. It is reported to weigh over 14 ounces but feels lightweight on foot. Its mesh upper is overlaid with high-performance textile for durability. The solid rubber outsole has a combination of multidirectional and herringbone patterns. For cushioning, Puma presents the Hybrid of two technologies - NRGY and Ignite Foams. This custom cushioning delivers a significant amount of energy return and responsiveness to keep the legs stress-free.
Cushion. Following in the footsteps of its predecessor, the Puma Uproar comes in the same Hybrid cushioning technology as the Clyde Court Disrupt. The NRGY cushioning is often compared to Adidas’s Boost technology. Even so, the NRGY cushioning has beads in the midsole that delivers energy return. Instead of an EVA foam, Puma has the Ignite foam as its midsole carrier.
Traction. The Puma Uproar comes with a solid rubber outsole. It features what some call a “blade” traction pattern. It is a combination of the tried-and-true herringbone, and linear and lateral lines. Built with thick and solid rubber outsoles, these Puma basketball shoes can definitely be played outdoors.
For dusty indoor courts, wearers are reminded to wipe the outsole from time to time to prevent floor slippage.
Length and Width. New buyers with narrow and normal-sized feet can go true to size with the Puma Uproar. As for those with wider feet, it is best to fit the shoe prior to the purchase.
Lockdown. The heel of the Puma Uproar comes with a TPU wrap-around piece for containment. It provides a good amount of lockdown to keep the foot from slippage and ankle injuries.
To keep the foot in place, these Puma shoes for hooping come in a half-bootie construction and a traditional lace-up system.
The upper of the Puma Uproar is made of mesh. The high-performance textile overlays make these Puma kicks durable.
Early this year, a handful of NBA players were spotted rocking the Puma Uproar. DeMarcus Cousins wore a simple black and white rendition of these basketball sneakers during a pre-game warm-up. Puma endorsers including DeAndre Ayton, Marvin Bagley III, Michael Porter Jr. and Zhaire Smith were also seen wearing the Uproars.
The Puma Uproar comes with pull tabs at the tongue and heel to make wearing and removing the shoe easy. The brand’s cat logo is found at the heel and outsole. As for the Puma Formstrip branding, it is made of textile and is located at the lateral side.
These lightweight Puma basketball sneakers look great with either long or short pants. These can also be worn any top.

Puma Uproar Spectra
The Spectra colorway is part of Puma’s Futro releases, which basically are designs that combine the future and retro.
