Updates to Puma Ignite evoKNIT Lo
- The Puma Ignite evoKNIT Lo banks on the success of the original design. It retains some of the technologies from the previous version such as the durable EverTrack outsole, the responsive IGNITE midsole, the Chevron flex grooves, the transition line, and the supportive heel strap.
- Instead of a high-cut design, the upper of this model comes up below the ankle. This low-cut silhouette gives the ankles more freedom to move.
Size and fit
The Puma Ignite evoKnit Lo comes in both men’s and women’s sizes. The men’s version is true to size while the women’s version runs large. Female consumers are advised to get a half or full size smaller than their usual size. It is also recommended to try the shoe in person to get a secure and comfortable fit. The width is available in D - Medium for men and B - Medium for women. The cleatie construction and the sock-like material in the upper deliver a snug fit.
The bottom of the Ignite evoKNIT Lo makes use of a rubber material. This compound is designed to be hard-wearing and flexible.
The shoe features Chevron flex grooves throughout the entire bottom to compensate for the relatively thick platform, and to support multi-directional movements, as well as natural forefoot bending. A transition line that goes from the heel to the forefoot mimics the natural gait, potentially giving a smooth ride.
The EverTrack+ reinforces the heel and forefoot areas. This technology is made of a high abrasion rubber that can withstand the grueling demands of indoor or outdoor training.
The Ignite foam comprises the midsole of this Puma trainer. This polyurethane (PU) compound is lightweight, durable and firm. It absorbs shock by compressing lightly and quickly returning to its original form, resulting in a quick push off from the ground.
The trainer employs a molded ethylene-vinyl acetate (IMEVA) insole. This foam adds another layer of comfort and shock absorption.
The Puma Ignite evoKNIT Lo features a three-colored knitted upper that stretches and conforms to the shape of the foot. This type of material is breathable and capable of keeping the foot-chamber well-ventilated. It also keeps the foot adequately supported during workouts.
Seen in the forefoot area are bonded overlays. They protect the knitted material from abrasion while also maintaining the shape of the toe box.
A TPU piece and a midfoot support strap serve as an external heel counter. It locks the back of the foot to the midsole and prevents it from slipping or wobbling inside the shoe.
Flat laces pass through the eyelets on the midfoot strap. Pulling the laces draws in the TPU unit at the back and delivers a more secure fit.
At the back of the collar is a pull tab that allows the wearer to put on the shoe quickly.
