Good to know

Exactly a year after parting ways with Adidas Basketball, Dwight Howard has another signature model to add to his sneaker resume. His second signature basketball shoe with the Chinese sportswear brand, the DH2 is the most advanced shoe that Peak has produced so far.

Featuring Peak Surface tech, Cushion-3, and a new R-pad, the Peak DH2 is engineered to provide Howard with the support that he needs when blocking shots and grabbing boards. These Peak basketball shoes are also designed to handle his immense strength and power when performing his signature post moves.

Cushion. Featuring Peak’s core cushioning technology, the midsole offers extraordinary cushioning and a new level of comfort on the court.

Peak’s Cushion-3 is made of three different materials to form the perfect cushioning system. The first material absorbs impact then spreads the energy all the way through the second layer. Upon push off, the third and last compound sends back all the absorbed energy for a more explosive step.

The Cushion-3 technology is visible in the heel while in the forefoot, their new R-pad technology delivers responsive cushioning. R-pad is a forefoot rebounding module that provides enhanced responsiveness and impact protection.

Traction. The Peak DH2 has a durable rubber outsole that features a herringbone pattern for superior multidirectional traction.

Length and Width. According to testers, Peak has been very inconsistent with their sizing, so it is best to try these shoes in-store. If not at all possible, they recommend ordering your actual size.

Lockdown. The Peak DH2’s lacing system features fit straps that provide a locked-in fit. The fit straps pull the midfoot into the footbed, locking it in place.

Maintaining midfoot strength is Peak’s anti-torsion technology called the Tenacity Unit Carbon. This carbon fiber shank prevents the foot from rotating and ensures stability when sprinting up and down the court.

Featuring the Peak surface technology, the DH2’s upper offers flexibility and dynamic support. The adaptive construction of the surface upper offers a smoother and more accurate fit for fantastic comfort.

The Peak DH2’s design was inspired by yin and yang, the Chinese concept of balance. Peak’s designers focused on perfecting the flexibility, support, stability, and weightlessness of these low-top basketball shoes.

Similar to his Adidas logo, Dwight Howard’s DH branding is seen on the outer tongue and midsole. The phrase “Be Gr8” is stitched on the inner tongue as a reference to his jersey number during his stay with the Atlanta Hawks.

Dwight Howard’s second signature basketball shoes with Peak are available in the following colorways:

  • Black/Red ‘Away’
  • Navy/Red ‘USA’
  • Red/White ‘Atlanta Hawks’
  • White/Black ‘Home’
