Updates to Oboz Sawtooth II Mid BDry

  • Oboz engineered the Sawtooth II Mid BDry as mid-cut waterproof boot primarily for day hikes. Its construction and the technologies infused in this gear also make it handy for backpacking trips. A BDry membrane is embedded within the boot’s nubuck leather upper for water protection and breathability.
  • Cushioning and stability are ably handled by the gear’s dual-density Sawtooth midsole, which is made of lightweight ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) foam. It uses a non-marking Sawtooth outsole to deliver multi-directional grip on challenging terrain.
  • This second generation model is slightly lighter than its predecessor, the Oboz Sawtooth Mid BDry. It also has more mesh panels in the upper, making this version more breathable.

Size and fit

The Oboz Sawtooth II Mid BDry comes in standard width for male and female hikers. It is offered in a range of whole and half sizes. Also, the footwear runs relatively true to size.

The boot’s closure system helps the wearer achieve a personalized and secure lockdown. The heel cup and sculpted midfoot area of this footgear adapt to the shape of the user’s foot. Its forefoot and toebox are also wider.

Outsole

Users can tackle virtually all types of terrain with this day hiking boot’s non-marking Sawtooth outsole. Its profile is filled with a pattern of aggressive lugs designed after the Sawtooth mountain range in Sun Valley, Idaho. There are lugs found on the outsole’s side which provides lateral traction to the wearer. The sole’s front end also extends upwards for extra protection against stubbing.

Midsole

Oboz’ Sawtooth II Mid BDry features a dual-density EVA midsole to create a cushioned ride. It also lessens the amount of impact with every step the user makes. A nylon shank is present within the midsole component to boost the footwear’s rigidity and support.

The brand’s patented O Fit footbed sits on top of the Sawtooth midsole. It contains varying densities of EVA foam to render extra cushioning and arch support. The footbed’s top layer also wicks excess moisture to keep the wearer’s foot dry and comfortable.

Upper

The Oboz Sawtooth II Mid Waterproof’s upper is made of nubuck leather and nylon mesh panels. These materials imbue the footgear with durability and breathability. A BDry membrane lines the upper to stand guard against the entry of water into the gear. It also allows excess moisture to pass through.

The boot’s heel counter and toe cap are reinforced to counter abrasive elements. Its closure system consists of fabric eyelets and metal hooks which allow the wearer to configure the footwear’s fit. A pull tab is positioned at the back of the boot to permit an easy on and off.
