Notable features of the Oboz Arete Mid
The Arete Mid has an ESS plate in the forefoot that helps minimize muscle pain-causing over-flexion.
This Oboz boot is equipped with the Tempest Outsole with multidirectional lugging pattern for enhanced grip and traction on varying terrain.
No more slips
The Arete mid-cut boot features a traditional lacing system with additional metal eyelets near the collar that allows the wearer to achieve a snug fit.
Its seamless upper construction ensures a smooth and glove-like fit and its hugging heel cup ensures that the foot stays even during aggressive movements.
This boot also features a sculpted midfoot and a wider forefoot and toebox.
Arete Mid: Delivering multi-surface traction
This hiking footwear comes with the Tempest Outsole with adaptive multi-directional lugs and perimeter lugs. It suits wet and dry conditions, smooth and rough surfaces, and uneven ground.
Additionally, there are active flex grooves for freedom of movement.
Reinforcing the shoe outsole is the A3 Chassis which is comprised of an integrated shank and an ESS forefoot plate.
This structure works to provide support and flexibility while reducing the weight incurred by the foot and preventing over-flexion.
Steady strides
For the midsole, this boot uses EVA - a flexible and durable cushioning system. Connecting the midsole and outsole are two independent TPU stabilizers that promote torsional flex, therefore allowing the foot to twist and bend naturally.
Enhancing the shoe cushioning system is the O FIT Insole - a propriety insole solution by Oboz. What makes it unique from traditional insoles is that it is molded to match the specific shape and construction of each pair of shoes manufactured.
This is done to ensure a high level of fit, feel, and performance.
Durable fit
The Oboz Arete mid-top hiker features a seamless upper construction made of open spacer mesh that is durable and weather-resistant.
The no-sew panels/overlays reinforce the structure of the upper while enhancing its durability. It also comes with a welded TPU toe cap that protects against bumps and sharp hazards.
Completing the shoe upper is a lace-up closure with flat laces.
There's a pull tab at the back of the collar for easy on and off.
