The Raptor Arctic GTX was developed for mountain cyclists who love winter adventures. Thanks to the shoe’s BioMap Aero Overlap construction and Climaflex neoprene collar, the wearer’s feet are fully sealed and protected from the elements.

Apart from insulation and weatherproofing, this shoe also offers excellent traction and power transfer. The grip is provided by Michelin rubber and aggressive tread design while the rigidity comes from a Jaws Carbon Reinforced sole.

Combines power transfer and flexibility. The Northwave Raptor Arctic GTX employs a sole design called by the brand as the explorer sole. This type of outsole generally provides rigidity in the pedal area for excellent power transfer and flexibility in the medial zone for comfort while walking.

The Jaws Carbon Reinforced soles employ a stiffness index of 8.0.

Traction. The outsoles are crafted from the world-renowned Michelin rubber. This grippy rubber material, combined with an aggressive tread design and an additional option to install toe studs, allows the rider to stay upright over slippery terrain.

This pair features the traditional two-hole mountain bike shoe cleat design. The cleat positioning is fixed and cannot be adjusted. Try the following MTB pedals to match with this model: Crank Brother Mallet E LS, Shimano XT M8020 Trail, and Nukeproof Horizon CS.

Excellent insulation and weatherproofing. The Northwave Raptor Arctic GTX employs several technologies to provide adequate protection against the elements. These are the Gore-Tex Koala, Climaflex collar, and Gore-Tex Rattler.

The Gore-Tex Koala is usually applied to the Arctic versions of Northwave shoes. It envelopes the entirety of the shoe and protects from the cold, rain, wind, and snow. The Climaflex collar, on the other hand, is crafted from highly elastic neoprene material. It provides mobility and shields against the elements.

Last but not least, the Gore-Tex Rattler wraps around the Climaflex collar. It offers insulation.

Fast and handy closure system. The Raptor Arctic GTX employs the brand’s SLW2 dial. In order to tighten the fit, turn the dial. For loosening in increments, press the buttons on the side or pull the button for instant release.

Reflective inserts. The shoe is designed with 360-degree reflective detailing. This enhances the rider’s security and safety, especially in low-light conditions.

Snug fit without pressure points. Designed with BioMap Aero Overlap construction, it provides a close fit as well as support. Moreover, the flexible shape minimizes surface friction and reduces aerodynamic drag.

To complete the shoe’s winter-equipped design, the brand’s Arctic footbed is employed. This footbed is designed with a four-layer aluminum and fleece construction. It helps seal the deal when it comes to protection against the elements.
