Decent rigidity. The Northwave Jet 2 employs the brand's NRG Air sole technology. It is rated 6 out of 15 in Northwave's stiffness index chart.
Breathable. The sole is designed with five ventilation pockets to promote good airflow.
Longevity. Equipped with replaceable heel pads, the shoe's traction can be replaced and renewed once the pad starts to wear off. This feature helps lengthen the shoe's overall lifespan.
The Northwave Jet 2 utilizes a universal cleat design, wherein cyclists can use either SPD two-bolt or Look Delta three-bolt pedals. If you choose to use the SPD option, some of the pedals you can use are DMR V-Twin Clipless, Crank Brothers Mallet E and Shimano M647.
If you prefer the Look Delta cleat system, these pedals are suitable: Time Xpro 12, Garmin Vector 3S Power Meter and Issi Flip III.
Note that the cleat plate for the SPD option is not included in the purchase.
Comfort. The upper is crafted from synthetic materials with minimal stitching for a comfortably snug fit sans the hot spots and pressure points.
Lockdown. A double Velcro design governs the retention system. This offers an easily adjustable fit even while on the saddle.
The straps work in conjunction with the integrated heel system to keep the foot in place while pedaling.
The Northwave Jet 2 features the brand's Air Sports insole. This footbed is designed to provide enhanced comfort and cushioning while promoting excellent airflow via perforations.
- Apart from the Jet 2 model, the Jet range by Northwave also includes two other designs: the Jet Evo and Jet Pro. The Northwave Jet Pro employs the most maximal design with stitches throughout the shoe, while the Jet Evo updates the Pro with a more modern look and lesser stitchings.
