The standout features for me would be support and stability. I didnt have any issues about my ankle rolling or anything like that.
This is a definite improvement from the Cage 2. I really enjoyed that bootie construction, it did take a bit of break-in to feel really comfortable.
Nike updated its Zoom Cage series with the drop of the 3rd generation that intends to address the needs of tennis players looking for a hard court trainer with a heavy-duty outsole and supportive body. This updated profile with a full bootie upper and unique Kurim caging system that offers durability in a lightweight build. It doesn’t scrimp on comfort since it comes with the integration of the Zoom Air cushioning in the midsole.
Elite and aggressive court players led by Rafael Nadal have been sporting this stability shoe under the Swoosh label. Its supportive element isn’t only concentrated in one segment of the shoe but in high-wear zones on the upper and sole. On the flipside is an extremely hard-wearing rubber that’s ready for hard court grinding.
Strength. Equipped with the XDR or extra-durable rubber bottom, this trainer is set for repeated pounding on the court. Such material makes the shoe twice long-lasting as the regular type of rubber outsoles.
Traction. It is engineered with a modified herringbone tread pattern that supplies traction suitable for hard court surfaces.
Durability. Because of the high demands of tennis, poorly done shoes can wear out quickly. Tennis trainers tagged with a durability warranty are typically those with the potential to last a considerable period.
Zoom Cage 3 is one of the shoes marked with a 6-month durability warranty. This classification guarantees the purchaser a one-time replacement of the footgear if the outsole sustains a considerable amount of damage.
Cushioning. As its name suggests, this trainer is built with the proprietary Zoom Air tech, a cushioning proponent that’s common among Nike’s running shoes. It is devised to deliver a responsive and energetic rebound that allows the foot to take off rapidly into the next step.
This technology is made of pressurized Air that’s lodged in the heel. Inside this unit are tensile fibers that compress as the foot lands on the court that bounce back right away. Such a push-off movement gives the user the right amount of energy to propel from shot after shot.
Support. An external TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) shank is housed in the midfoot that’s intended to provide lightweight torsional stability.
Breathability. Its full bootie upper is assembled with a breathable mesh overlaid by a one-of-a-kind rubber caging system. This trainer offers more ventilation than the Cage 2 due to the less amount of rubber on the exterior which allows air to circulate freely through the mesh.
Stability. The rubber web-like cage is fused onto the mesh in high-wear zones for added security. Such overlay is made of a pliable and abrasion-resistant Kurim material.
Tighter and thicker webbing is bonded in areas that needed support while the thinner ones open up in sections that require flexibility.
Flexibility. This exceptionally pliable component doesn’t only offer a skin-like fit as it bends with each stride but creates a visual appeal as well.
