Nike SB Zoom Blazer Mid Premium: An update to a classic skate sneaker
Nike initially released the Blazer in the 70s as basketball footwear. In the 80s, it was seen in the growing skateboarding realm for its minimalist look, grippy sole, and sturdy construction. Since then, countless variations of the Blazer was launched under the Nike SB line. One of the most celebrated iterations is the Nike SB Zoom Blazer Mid, which features a thick sole and versatile appeal.
Nike upgraded the Blazer Mid by releasing the Premium variation. The Nike SB Zoom Blazer Mid Premium features several features inspired by outdoor sneakers. The upper is made of pebbled leather secured with round laces. The corduroy detail on the heel, meanwhile, further enhances the lavish vibe. Another luxurious feature is the jeweled frosted Nike Swoosh on the side that gives this kick a unique and notable vibe.
To celebrate the Sashiko, a decorative reinforcement stitching technique used by the Japanese, Nike unveiled the SB Zoom Blazer Mid PRM 'Sashiko' version. This iteration displays this one-off stitching using color-contrasted patches to add style as well as provide reinforcement.
Unlike the leather version, the Sashiko is dressed in a canvas upper reinforced with suede overlays. Found on the heel is a canvas stitching with oversized branding and exposed foam on the tongue to add a deconstructed touch.
