Notable Features

The Swoosh endowed this model with a clean design that catches most of the consumers’ interest, skaters and non-skaters alike. However, skaters especially gravitate towards this shoe due to its skate-centric features. The features include clean toe cap designs for minimal blow-outs, vulcanized soles for excellent board feel and flexibility, Solarsoft foam insoles for cushioning and protection, and durable suede and canvas upper for long-lasting wear.

Nike SB Chron Solarsoft History

The sub-label where the Nike SB Chron Solarsoft belongs did not have an easy start. Nike has been quite established during the time the company attempted to release skate-centric shoes in the 90s. Hence most people would naturally think that the giant sportswear brand’s new venture would be met with complete fervor, however, quite the opposite happened.

Skaters during the 90s were somewhat purists and would only purchase from skate-centered brands such as DC, Vans, Emerica, and eS which became the ultimate reason why Nike’s first attempt was not as successful as expected.

Fast-forward to 2002, the Swoosh brand officially launched Nike SB (Nike Skateboarding,) and employed well-known pro skateboarders like Paul Rodriguez and Stefan Janoski which successfully paved the way for the sub-label’s admittance into the skateboarding culture.

Since then, Nike SB shoes have been steadily produced in consistent numbers. One of them is the Nike SB Chron SLR, a classic skate kick equipped with removable Solarsoft insoles, vulcanized soles, and durable suede and canvas uppers.

The Nike SB Chron SLR Black & White is the most popular colorway but consumers could also check out other color options namely Wolf Grey/White, Obsidian/White, Washed Coral/White, Golden Beige/White, Dark Grey/White/Anthracite, and Fitness Red/White.
