Nike SB BLZR Court DVDL: A remastered court kick apt for board flips
The Oregon-based company retooled one of its popular tennis shoes into a skate-ready kick. Collaborating with Netherland’s greatest skating export, Daan Van Der Linden, the Nike SB BLZR Court DVDL mixes minimalism with contemporary elements.
Paying homage to the skater’s favorite pastime, DVDL added a few personal touches to this special project. Arriving in a freshwater-inspired colorway, his love for fishing can be seen throughout. It has a custom patch found on the heel and a fishhook situation right on the iconic Swoosh. Meanwhile, the twill fabric used and the detailed stitching on the upper are stirred from the fishing vest's look and feel.
What are the updates?
Nike upgraded a few details from its predecessor, Nike SB Blazer Zoom Low, to make it more precise to DVDL's style:
- Instead of using the customary plain-weaved canvas, Nike and DVDL utilized twill fabric that is more durable.
- The Swoosh thinned out the rubber on key areas to provide wearers with better protection while making it lighter and easy to break in.
- Nike added a rubber patch on the high-wear ollie zone for enhanced durability.
- Inserted inside is the Nike Zoom Air sockliner with an Air unit situated at the heel for added comfort and support during the impact.
