Who should buy the Nike Phantom GT2 Elite FG
Fans of the Nike Phantom GT Elite FG will surely love the Phantom GT2. Performance-wise, they are pretty similar. Looks-wise, the GT2 is a bit of an upgrade.
Those who enjoy playing in "unrestrictive" low-tops will also enjoy this version.
Who should NOT buy the Phantom GT2 Elite FG from Nike
The Phantom GT2 Elite FG isn't for those who are:
- Wide-footers. If they insist, they can go at least half a size up.
- On a (tight) budget. The Pro version of the GT2 might work for them. If that, too, is still expensive, the Academy version can come in handy.
- With preference to mid-top soccer cleats. As is usually the case with Nike soccer cleats, a Dynamic Fit version of this shoe is available.
- Anticipating significant improvements from the previous version
Excellent traction
Players report that the chevron and conical studs do a great job of digging into the firm ground, eliminating slips and falls.
The Nike Phantom GT2 Elite FG has a sock-like fit
The upper is made of Flyknit, and it wraps around the foot quite comfortably. This close-to-the-skin fit provides sufficient support and lockdown.
Weather resistance
The Nike Phantom GT2 Elite FG is equipped with the ACC technology, which allows it to be used under different weather conditions.
High-friction upper
The Flyknit upper is topped all over with tiny embossed chevrons, giving the shoe enough friction for more precise dribbing, passing, and kicking. Like the previous version, this soccer cleat also features an off-center lacing system to keep the striking zone free from distractions.
The Phantom GT2 is light
The Phantom GT2 never weighs a soccer player down. It is as light as the original Phantom GT at 7.7 oz (218 g).
Stylish appearance
As far as appearance is concerned, the Nike Phantom GT2 Elite FG isn't to be discounted. It looks even better than the first Phantom GT. Performance-wise, the two are more or less the same.
