Good to know

The Nike Air Max 97 SE Reflective sneaker is available in men’s sizing. It has a foam midsole and Max Air unit to keep interiors cushioned. Meanwhile, the signature Air Max 97 lacing system keeps everything secure and on lockdown. Pull tabs on the tongue and heel back allow quick on and off the shoe.

Heading out to a club or a neighborhood pub can be further enhanced by a stylish kick like the Nike Air Max 97 SE Reflective. The remastered look combines Off Noir and Total Orange hues in the synthetic and textile uppers and a full-length Air unit in contrasting orange color giving a new level of sophistication to your outfit. The design has been proven to be comfortable with modern features. While past reflective detailing was solely rendered in the piping on the upper, the special edition release has a more focused design giving reflectivity in the front, back, and lateral side.

Styling up the sneaker depicts simplicity as the finish of the shoe does not go over the top and instead keeps it simple with only a few accents on the black upper. The black upper material of the special edition kick also commands versatility as it goes easily with a lot of clothing.

Pair the Nike Air Max 97 SE Reflective with joggers, jeans, cropped or ankle pants, and shorts. To make the design stand out even more, wear them with crew socks or mid high socks with unique printing or designs to level-up the sock game. For tops, you can pair them with hoodies, jackets, oversized shirts, and other street-style garments.

The sleeker look and lighter feel of the Nike Air Max 97 SE shoes can be attributed to its premium leather primary material with textile and synthetic materials in the upper. The men’s low-top shoe also has reflective elements in the safari prints at the back, front, and at the lateral side of the upper for that futuristic look that does not compromise functionality. The welded overlays in the upper are a direct callout to the original Air Max 97 design and provide structure and durability. With a foam midsole and a full-length Max Air Unit at the bottom, the shoe has ample amount of cushioning that lasts all day.

The Nike Air Max 97 sneaker is one of the most celebrated and sought after designs of the Swoosh brand. Launched in 1997 as its name implies, the shoe is the first to feature a full-length air cushioning unit displayed at the bottom.

The design was the brainchild of Christian Tresser who drafted the successor of the Air Max 95. The design was sleek with noticeable wavy lines coming from the piping on the sides reminiscent of Japanese bullet trains. But for Tresser, the design was actually inspired by the metallic composition and reflective detailing of mountain bikes. For the first time, the Air Max design also went out with a foamless sole which had, in turn, pressurized air in varying amounts to address the demands of various parts of the feet. The full-length air unit also provides shock and impact absorption mechanism to the shoe.

While previous versions of the Air Max 97 already featured reflectivity through 3M reflective accents in the wavy piping on the sides, the Nike Air Max 97 SE Reflective takes it even further by placing reflective accents on the Safari patterns found in the shoe upper. Contrasting orange Swoosh accents were also minimalist and subtle while the orange interiors of the full-length Air unit provide the right amount of contrast to the design. The Nike Air Max 97 SE Reflective was released on November 5, 2018.
