Good to know
The Nike Air Max 95 SP runs true to size and is available in men’s US sizes. Women can size down to 1 ½ in size. It’s a low-top sneaker with a full lace-up closure that’s adjustable for a supportive fit. Its breathable upper made of mesh, canvas, and denim is lightweight and gives a comfy in-shoe feel.
The Nike Air Max 95 SP is a bright and bold take on the silhouette. Its upper is a combination of mesh, canvass, and denim. It features vibrant multi-colored rib-like overlays matching colors with the eye stays and toned down by a black mesh panel and tongue. Denim appears on the toe and heel making it look casual and stylish. It’s topped off with oversized lace-locks in the shape of a sun and heart and vivid branding all around the sneakers.
The playful aesthetic of the Nike Air Max 95 is paired with a neutral white midsole that houses multi-colored Air units and the sneaker fan-favorite gum outsole. It’s great for creating a statement with your shoes in casual outfits and it has the same functionality as the running pair it’s meant to be.
For the Air Max 95 SP, Nike swaps colors and materials to create a playful look on the Air Max 95 in the form of an almost patchwork design. The upper consists of a black mesh upper base and layering of canvas in 4 vibrant colors: Royal Purple, Chrome Yellow, Psychic Blue, and University Red. The same color palette appears on the eye stays of the lace unit following the same pattern. The toe box and heel are dressed in thick light-washed denim material.
It has a lace closure in mismatched colors, purple on one shoe, and red on the other. Two oversized metal lace-locks in the shape of a sun and a heart don the pair. A white midsole with visible multi-colored Air unit cushions every step in the heel and forefoot helps absorb impact. Solid gum rubber outsole with flex grooves enhance flexibility and provides excellent traction. To finish the look, Nike, Swoosh, and Air Max branding appear in different vibrant colors on the tongue, heel, and lateral side of the shoe.
In 1995, the Air Max 95 was introduced with a forefoot housing the Air unit built for maximum cushioning and absorbing impact for powerful runners. A couple of decades later, its curvy mesh and suede layered upper and speed lacing system was added. Taking cues from the human anatomy, the midsole represents the spine, side panels represent the muscle, the lacing system represents the ribs, and the mesh represents the skin.
The iconic design lives to this day after taking so many forms. The new Air Max 95 SP comes in a vivid multi-color upper, white midsole with multi-color Air units, and a rubber gum sole. It brings the same technology and features of the classic Air Max 95 in a whole new look.
