Good to know

The Nike Air Max 1 Ultra Moire is a low-top shoe that features a traditional lace closure for a snug yet customizable fit. The minimalist upper has laser perforations for breathable comfort, in addition to the comfort and impact protection from the signature Air-Sole unit. Similar to the original Air Max 1, the tongue features an extra tab or eyelet for the shoelaces to keep it from sliding to the sides.

The Nike Air Max 1 Ultra Moire joins the list of low-top lifestyle sneakers with its visible Air-Sole unit and a minimalist and perforated upper. Available in several colors, one would surely find a pair that suits his/her style. Also, it is lighter in weight and less bulky than the original Air Max 1. It can be worn with casual wear for an everyday look, or with sportswear for a sporty and athleisure look.

The Nike Air Max 1 Ultra Moire could not get any more innovative than it already is. It is the fusion of the Air Max's iconic visible Air unit in a slimmed-down midsole and the Air Zoom Moire's minimalist upper for maximum comfort and light and breathable feel without sacrificing support and stability. The upper is comprised of either synthetic leather or suede with laser perforation details that one wouldn't miss even from afar.

It was in 1987 when Tinker Hatfield upped the sneaker game when he introduced Nike's Air Max cushioning through the revolutionary Air Max 1. It left a mark for its visible Air-Sole unit which mainly functions for impact absorption for maximized support and comfort. Throughout the years, it received several releases in various colorways and iterations.

Another innovative shoe from Nike was introduced in 2006, the Nike Air Zoom Moire. It was the first shoe designed to "talk" to an Apple iPod nano through the wireless Nike + iPod Sport Kit. Primarily used for running or workouts, it records information about the wearer's workout time, distance, and calories burned.

Then in 2014, Nike came up with an idea to combine the two innovative shoe models. Taking the DNA and design from the Air Max 1 and the minimalist upper from the Air Zoom Moire, the Nike Air Max 1 Ultra Moire came into the spotlight. The seamless one-piece upper with laser-perforated details allows maximum breathability and comfort. It also features a full-length Phylon midsole and a slimmed-down outsole with a visible Air unit like that in the iconic Air Max 1.

  • The signature Swoosh branding on the sides is laser-printed as part of the one-piece upper.
  • The PU midsole unit also functions as the outsole, which makes this shoe lighter than the original Air Max 1. There is also rubber in high wear areas for durable traction.
  • Some colorways of the Air Max 1 Ultra Moire have 3M reflective detailing.
