The New Balance 247 is a relatively new model by the brand. It came out in 2016 in very limited quantities—247 pairs to be exact. The name is a nod to the 24/7 lifestyle of modern man and how that man is ready for anything.
The 247 was inspired by three New Balance shoes, namely, the NB998, the NB576, and the M1300JP. The shoe took the forefoot pattern of the M1300JP, the mesh toe box of the NB576, and the grey nubuck of the NB998.
Because of the model’s success, New Balance released it in other NB 247 iterations such as the 247 Luxe, 247 Sport, 247 Classic, 247 Leather, and now, the 247 Suede. The 247 Suede keeps the same silhouette, but all dressed up in a premium suede upper.
- The shoe features an embossed logo on the tongue.
- Perforations on the toe box keep the wearer’s feet dry and comfy.
