Good to know

  • With the third version out on the market, the Mizuno Wave Emperor continues to be a responsive road-running shoe that excels in races and other fast-paced excursions. The shoe aims to provide a lightweight and speedy experience while also fulfilling standards in fit, grip, and cushioning. The Wave Emperor 3 is ideal for competitive runners.
  • The modified AIRmesh upper of the Wave Emperor 3 offers a more breathable and minimalistic design, as well as a snug fit that holds the foot in place. Beneath it is the retained U4ic midsole that gives a spring in each stride.
  • The outsole of this shoe is also updated to supply a stickier grip that intends to deliver a more flexible than ever before.

The Mizuno Wave Emperor 3 comes in a variety of sizes, and with its anatomical shape, runners may expect a fit that is true to size. The forefoot offers an adequate toe splay, with the midfoot and heel giving a secure hold on foot. The shoe’s relatively high stack height enables a comfortable support for wearers with high arches. The Wave Emperor 3 is available in regular widths for both the men’s and women’s versions.

The G3 outsole is made from a lightweight rubber compound, it enables an increased grip and flexibility with the shoe of the running shoe. The material also promotes a natural movement because of its lithe characteristic.

A dot-pattern layout gives the general appearance of the G3. Such a design permits an even grip and impact absorption on any kind of surface. The dots are assisted by a couple of flex grooves in the forefoot region, which allow the toe-off phase to be responsive.

The high-wear areas in the outsole are covered with X10, a carbon rubber layer protects the shoe from abrasion.

The U4ic midsole, present in almost all of Mizuno’s running shoes, deliver a high-quality cushioning for the runner. It is created from unique components that efficiently absorbs shock and maintains resilience for a steady ride. With its durable quality, the U4ic is expected to have a long lifespan.

The shoe also has Resin Wave, a layer of hardened resin location in the rearfoot area of the shoe. This feature is meant to dissipate shock during the landing phase.

Beneath the U4ic midsole is an ESS wave plate that acts as a shield against debris and other harmful elements on the running surface.

A standard sock liner completes the midsole structure of the Wave Emperor 3. It has comfortable and flexible qualities that equip the shoe with additional underfoot protection and cushioning.

This running shoe has an AIRmesh upper, which is a lightweight and breathable material that makes the moving experience cool and comfortable. AIRmesh encourages optimal airflow to keep the internal environment of the Wave Emperor 3 dry and healthy.

A stitched overlay system reinforces the upper and provides the shoe with a support framework. As it helps keep the foot in place, the upper wraps around for a more secure fit.
