Size and fit

The Merrell Yokota 2 Mid Waterproof is a mid-top day hiking boot built for men and women. Its conventional lacing system enables wearers to dial in their preferred fit. The footgear’s padded tongue and cuff help promote a comfortable in-shoe fit.

Keeping outdoor enthusiasts stable on various ground conditions is the Merrell Yokota 2 Mid Waterproof’s rubber outsole. It has a pattern of 4mm-deep aggressive lugs, which render traction on both wet and dry surfaces. Its forefoot and rearfoot regions contain ridges to give extra control when going uphill or downhill. The outsole’s front tip extends toward the toe box to provide protection from stubbing.

This outdoor-specific boot from Merrell is able to give outdoor lovers a stable ride, thanks to its EVA midsole. It is paired with the brand’s proprietary Air Cushion technology, which absorbs shock in the heel section. A molded nylon shank is integrated into the midsole to make the Yokota 2 Mid Waterproof rigid and resistant to contorting. Moreover, it also has a Kinetic Fit Base removable insole, which is contoured to give arch support and underfoot comfort.

The Merrell Yokota 2 Mid Waterproof features an upper made of suede leather and mesh panels. These materials come together to imbue the boot with abrasion-resistance and breathability. A Keen.Dry membrane is embedded into the upper to prevent water from entering while allowing excess moisture to escape. Its forefoot area contains a rubber toe cap for durability and trail protection. A molded thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) counter is found at the rearfoot section for heel support.

This Merrell hiking boot comes with a series of fabric eyelets and metal hooks to help the wearer manage its fit. A bellows tongue is integrated into the upper to prevent debris from entering. Completing the upper is a pull tab found at the back to give users easy on and off.
