Merrell Moab Adventure Mid Waterproof Style

At first glance, the rugged appearance of the sneakerboot might deceive you, but a closer look projects a real-time appeal of casual footwear. The Merrell Moab Adventure Mid Waterproof can be sported with pants which radiates a semi-formal image. The mid-top shank can be emphasized by wearing shorts that compliment the sneakerboot's color.

Notable Features

Two prominent colorways are introduced to the market namely the black and the dark earth tones. The shoe has eight hexagonal eyelets with one pair of Nubuck leather loops in the middle. A lace hook is present at the top of the enclosure to add snugness.

The M Select™ DRY membrane of the upper prevents moisture from penetrating inside and keeps the feet warm and dry. A combination of Nubuck leather and mesh are utilized for the construction of its upper.

Merrell Moab Adventure Mid Waterproof History

The roots of Merrell hiking cleats date back when Clark Matis and John Schweizer decided to merge with custom cleats maker Randy Merrell in 1981. Matis and Schweizer are both executives of the ski company brand Rossignol before they decided to start their hiking cleat line. Randy Merrell, which the company still bears the name, was a producer of high-end hiking cleats that were sold $500 a pop.

Together they started to create an affordable yet high-performance cleat which would be later released in 1983. From there, the company began to diversify their products.

From time to time Merrell was bought by several conglomerate companies until they landed with Wolverine World Wide, the maker of Hush Puppies. The shift saw the release of lightweight trail running shoes and variations of the hiking silhouette.

The Merrell Moab Adventure Mid Waterproof was one of the products that showcase the versatility of a hiking cleat as street wear or as outdoor gear. It is assembled with prime technologies like the FIT.ECO footbed, Vibram® outsole, and the M Select™ DRY membrane of the upper.
