Who should buy the Mavic Cosmic Elite
Be lightning fast on the road when you’re wearing this pair of cycling trainers. It is a solid option if you:
- Need a shoe that is constructed with a sleek silhouette using light materials.
- Need a shoe that has a top design to snugly wrap the foot, preventing hot spots and power loss.
- Need a shoe that is crafted to be stiff, allowing wearers to breeze through the roads, whether they’re competing or riding for fun.
Energy comp outsole
The Energy Comp Outsole makes up the bottom layer of the Mavic Cosmic Elite. This compound scores 60 out of 100 in the Index Energy Transfer scale. It means that it is rigid enough for efficient power transfer with every pedal stroke.
It has rubber pads in the forefoot and heel section. These elements make standing and walking more comfortable for the wearer.
Mavic Cosmic Elite's cleat system
A Look-style cleat system is used on the Cosmic Elite. It works well with the following road cycling pedals: Look Keo Blade, Time Xpresso 10, and Shimano PD-R8000. If you like Speedplay pedals, they have base plates that allow it to be fitted with Speedplay cleats.
Protective upper
A synthetic material forms the outer layer of the top. It protects the foot against the elements on the road. It also maintains the shape of the upper to keep the foot supported.
The Endofit Tongue hugs the top of the foot, delivering a cozy fit. It also evenly distributes the pressure created by the wires when they are tightened.
Comfortable cushioning
Riding in warm weather won’t feel too icky as the Cosmic Elite has mesh panels and perforations that allow for heat dissipation. The interior is also lined with soft mesh fabric for aeration and prevention of chafing.

This trainer features the Mavic Ergo Dial QR and two Ergo Straps. The dial allows for micro-adjustments so you can get the right tightness at the top. Both types of locking mechanisms allow for fast adjustments, even when on the move.
OrthoLite insole
An OrthoLite insole is placed inside the Cosmic Elite. This thin foam provides underfoot cushioning, temperature and moisture control, and preventing the foot from sliding around while pedaling.
