The Mammut Nordwand Light Mid GTX is a men’s-only mountaineering boot. Generally, it runs true to size, and it caters to individuals with a medium-width foot. The 2 Zone lacing feature divides the boot into two sections—the upper and the lower part—enabling differential tension and providing a more customized fit.
Mammut’s Nordwand Light Mid GTX employs the Michelin Alpine Lite 3970 outsole. The defined lug tread grants grip on boulders and even on snowy surfaces. Its Climbing Zone is more pronounced to assist owners on technical pursuits.
This Mammut product comes with the Contact Control feature. It includes a carbon midsole that is integrated into the damping light PU wedge. This combination renders lightweight cushioning, increased stability, and enhanced surefootedness. It is partnered with an insulated carbon insole that enhances comfort by providing a decent amount of warmth. Also, there are heel and toe welts that receive crampons.
The Nordwand Light Mid GTX wears an abrasion-resistant Schoeller WB-400 Stretch Fabric for its upper. It also comes with a Gore-Tex Performance Comfort laminate, a feature that makes it waterproof and breathable. Also, this membrane gives a modest amount of insulation, providing an all-weather ready performance.
The raised rubber rand that wraps the base of the upper yields enhanced protection and durability. The Base Fit 2.0 feature provides heel support and prevents the development of blisters for a more comfortable experience.
This Mammut offering is designed with Easy Entry System that grants owners a convenient on and off. It includes two elastic pull loops that can be used even when wearing gloves. Its to-the-toe lacing system uses three pairs of fabric loops and three sets of metal hooks.
