Mad Rock Agama notable features

-The Agama is Mad Rock’s response to senders looking to take on ascents with a combination of versatility and all-around comfort. It comes with a mostly stiff construction, delivering extra security on edge-type surfaces.

-It is built with two of Mad Rock’s exclusive technologies: Syn Flex and Science Friction 3.0. The former is the Agama’s protective upper, while the latter the shoe’s grippy outsole.

Profile

Downturn. The Mad Rock Agama is a neutral rock climbing shoe, which means it has practically no beak-like downturn. As such, the shoe in question is primarily ideal for edging and smearing. Offerings that fall under this category provide multi-pitch climbers with extended comfort.

Applications. This downturn-less rock shoe is intended for bouldering, trad climbing, and sport routes. Its flat profile and rigid construction make it a competent tool for fissures (cracks). Agama owners may climb in it both indoors and outdoors.

Fit

Mad Rock’s Agama is a below-the-ankle climbing shoe for men. It has synthetic reinforcements that put stretch to a minimum and a 3D-molded heel that enhances the shoe’s fit around the heel zone. The foot is expected to lie bent in it, thanks to its moderately asymmetric confines. Its strapping system is responsible for giving users a precise and secure fit.

Performance

Midsole. The Agama’s provision of underfoot support is sourced from its part polyester, part EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) midsole. Mad Rock engineers gave it a thickness of 1.8 mm. For added comfort, this supportive layer comes topped with a leather footbed.

Outsole. The Mad Rock Agama climbing shoe uses a brand-owned outsole called Science Friction 3.0 in granting wearers sufficient traction on a variety of surfaces. It is made of a rubber compound produced locally in the United States. 4.2 mm is its overall thickness.

Upper

What encases the foot in the Agama is a low-top upper made with a combination of synthetic fabric (also known as Syn Flex) and high-grade leather. Two pull loops are attached to its heel to make slipping in and out of the shoe a relatively quick affair. Mad Rock designers opted to go split-type with its tongue, contributing to the Agama’s ease of access. They also furnished the shoe with enough randing around its heel and forefoot to give climbers adequate smearing traction.

Completing the equation of the Mad Rock Agama’s upper is the rock shoe’s Velcro closure. It consists of two highly adjustable straps engineered with hook-and-loop fasteners.
