Who should not buy the Lake CX238

Lake shoes are expensive but it is worth the price because of their amazing offers. You can consider it as an investment rather than an extravagance.

Lake CX238 updates

If you are looking for a much cheaper shoe, you might want to consider Lake CX218 or Fizik Aria R3.

The CX238's 100% carbon fibre sole

The CX238 has a carbon fibre outsole and has a 3-hole cleat pattern. Its carbon fibre sole creates a comfortable, lightweight and classy package for the shoe.

The toe and heel pads provide some protection for the carbon and help keep you upright on your way to and from the bike.

Excellent ventilation and roomy toe box

The upper has a Fullgrain Water Resistant Premium Leather and mesh with hook lycra. The Helcor heel panel and rubber toe bumper help protect the upper from scuffs and scratches. Large areas of the upper and tongue feature small triangular perforations that provide ventilation, while mesh panels allow air to flow in and out freely. If you tend to get hot feet while cycling in high temperatures, these aren't the coolest shoes out there, but they're reasonable in that respect.

The Lake CX238 is quite roomy. It has plenty of space at the front that allows users to wiggle their toes freely.

Comfortable padding and keeps your foot in place

It has a small amount of padding to the tongue and around the opening keeps everything comfortable. While 'cat's tongue' fabric at the heel helps hold your foot in place.

Secure lacing system

The dual Boa IP1 dials allow for easy adjustment – both tightening and loosening the shoe by turning the dial in either direction. Twisting the dials through thick neoprene overshoes isn't a problem, and they're easy to replace if they ever get damaged.

How to Measure: Take your foot measurement in a standing position while wearing your cycling socks.

  • Step 1: Trace your foot onto a sheet of paper. After you trace your foot take a ruler and make a line to mark the furthest point on all four sides.
  • Step 2: Length measurement. Use a millimeter ruler to get the measurement of the longest distance from heel to longest toe (first or second toe).
  • Step 3: Width measurement. Use a millimeter ruler to get the measurement of the widest distance of foot from side to side.
  • Step 4: Repeat steps for other feet as your feet may be different sizes. Typically you will want shoes that accommodate your largest foot the most comfortably.
  • Add 5mm to your actual length measurement to get recommended size.

For accurate measurement, please obtain a 3 digit millimeter measurement. Accurate measurements cannot be obtained from only 2 digits.
