Good to know

Lakai Newport Hi shoes have a high-cut construction that provides ample support and protection for the ankles. Nine pairs of eyelets placed on suede eyestay overlays offer a customized and adjustable fit for the user.

The vulcanized construction of these sneakers gives them enhanced flexibility and superior board feel. The vulc soles are also designed to break in quickly and keep the weight to a minimum.

These shoes from Lakai use removable foam sockliners with deep heel cups to keep the foot perfectly in place as well as to provide arch support for better comfort.

Classic kicks come in different shapes and forms. It just so happens that the classic look is now in the form of skateboarding shoes—the Lakai Newport Highs. On feet, they look just like the retro shoes of old, because of the high-cut silhouette and the simple design. Only the contrast-colored Lakai logos provide the counterpoint to the tonal uppers.

Some colorways available for these shoes include white suede, black suede, and blue suede.

Although Lakai Newport High sneakers have a simple look, their construction is far from being the same. These kicks are packed with tech to make every ride and session a high-performing and comfortable one.

Deluxe-Lite sockliners gives ample support to the arches courtesy of their contoured shape. The deep heel cups, aside from keeping the feet in place securely, also give the user added stability.

Para-Mount outsoles bring a luxurious cushioning to the shoes that can rival that of cupsoles. The Hex Tread patterns in the soles have Hex pods that move autonomously from each other for 360-degree flexibility and maximum board feel. These pods also give superior grip on the board.

The Lakai Newport Hi shoes are inspired by the brand’s first vulcanized shoes, the Howard Selects. Instead of the leather of the Selects, Lakai covered the Newport His with suede. The brand also removed some of the stitching accents and made the design much more streamlined.

Low-top versions of these kicks are also available and are called Lakai Newports.

  • The blue suede colorway of Lakai Newport Hi shoes is also called the Cody Chapman. These kicks are named for one of Lakai’s pro riders, and they feature a graphic logo on the tongues that read, ‘Cold.’
