Who should buy the KEEN Voyageur
The Voyageur is a water-resistant hiking shoe from KEEN ideal for:
- individuals who want a low-profile look ready for the outdoors
- outdoorsy people who like a breathable pair of footgear
- those who prefer a combination of leather and mesh upper for comfort
Aggressive outsole of the Voyageur
The Voyageur employs a non-marking rubber outsole. It features 4 mm multidirectional lugs that grip onto rocks, sand, mud, and other types of terrain.
The aggressive boots enhance its anchor on uneven grounds while the perimeter studs provide stability. The sole extends upwards at the front enveloping the toe area. It improves the shoe’s protection against accidental bumps.
KEEN Voyageur’s midsole is packed with technologies
The midsole of the KEEN Voyageur hiking shoe is a dual-density compression-molded ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA). This lightweight material is able to absorb shock from ground impacts while cushioning each user’s step.
The Voyageur low also features the S3 (Shock, Suspension and Stability) Heel Support Structure. This configuration is incorporated into the shoe to support the foot by dissipating shock on impact.
Stability and flexibility
KEEN’s Voyageur has a contoured heel cup which locks the foot in place. It helps reduce the chances of spraining the ankles. Moreover, an ESS shank is added underfoot to provide torsional stability, especially on uneven grounds. It enhances motion control without limiting flexibility.
A removable metatomical footbed follows the contour of the foot to provide arch support and comfort. It puts emphasis on the big toe or the metatarsal joint area which is prone to pressure.
This low-cut hiking shoe comes equipped with the Cleansport NXT. This feature uses a natural, hypoallergenic process which removes odor biologically.
Voyageur supportive and breathable design
The KEEN Voyageur low has a water-resistant leather upper lined with a moisture-wicking textile. The overlays that wrap the midfoot area help maintain the shoe’s structure and boost its durability. In between these inlays are mesh vents which promote air exchange for a cozy feel, especially on warm hikes.
Protection on the trail is optimized thanks to its gusseted tongue and rubber toe cap. The former prevents unwanted entry of loose trail debris. The latter shields the foot against painful knocks on rock-strewn trails.
Its lace-up closure system (includes loops and round lace) aids in fit management. Pull tabs are attached at the top of its padded tongue and at the back of the shoe to facilitate hassle-free on and off.
