Updates to KEEN Durand II Mid WP

  • The second version of the Durand Mid WP hiking boot comes with an updated look and improved construction materials. Its upper is still made of nubuck partnered with the brand’s very own KEEN.Dry technology.
  • Its lacing system previously employed six pairs of combination eyelets (comprised of webbing and metal hooks). The current version has a round lace which goes through eight pairs of mixed hardware (speed hooks and metal loops). This new design grants a more customized fit.
  • Still providing comfort and support under the foot is a direct-attach PU midsole and shank, respectively. The metatomical footbed design boosts support to the foot’s arches for a more supportive ride.
  • Making the Durand II Mid WP adhere to various ground surfaces is the boot’s dual-compound rubber outsole. This element and the boot’s midsole form a rockered profile which promotes a smooth roll-off motion.

Size and fit

This mid-cut hiking boot from the brand caters to male and female outdoor lovers. The KEEN men’s Durand II Mid WP is offered in D - standard and 2E - wide widths. The women’s version comes in B - standard width only. Both styles are available in whole and half sizes. This footgear reasonably runs true to size. The lace-up closure of this gear enables hikers to personalize the fit.

KEEN’s Durand II Mid WP carries a non-marking dual-compound rubber outsole. This sturdy element renders grip on most terrain types through its 4 mm lugs. These boots are widely spaced to facilitate automatic shedding of accumulated debris. Additionally, the textured profile of its indentation prevents muck build-up. Security against rock-strewn trails is handled by a proprietary feature, the KEEN.Protect. It acts as a toe bumper.

For long-lasting comfort, the brand’s designers use a direct-attach polyurethane (PU) midsole in the Durand II Mid WP. PU is known for its resistance against constant compression which enables it to preserve the life of its cushioning property. It houses a lightweight shank which takes care of stability. Topping this component is a metatomical EVA footbed that cradles the foot and delivers arch support.

It is equipped with Cleansport NXT which maintains the freshness of the boot. It naturally controls odor and is safe for both the users and the environment.

This over-the-ankle hiking boot from KEEN wears a durable nubuck leather upper. This material is paired with the brand-owned KEEN.Dry technology. It is a waterproof barrier that also offers a decent amount of ventilation. It allows expulsion of moisture without letting water in, keeping a dry and fresh in-shoe feel. An addition to this trademarked lining is a breathable mesh which amplifies comfort.

The lower part of the upper is reinforced to increase its resistance against scuffs and improve performance on and off the trails. Comfort is enhanced thanks to the padded tongue and collar of the Durand II Mid WP hiking boot.

Its closure system employs speed hooks which permit quick adjustment of fit. It works with the boot’s heel lock, so slippage is prevented as the user tightens the lace.
