Profile of the Jordan ADG

Michael Jordan’s competitiveness and legacy do not end in basketball. Fans would know that he is also a golf aficionado and that transcends into his golf shoe line.

Compared to the brand’s basketball and sneaker lines, the launch of golf-ready pieces may not be as frequent. However, each item is curated for the sport, and they are equally second-glance worthy.

The Jordan ADG is a living proof that golf shoes have been entering a new style realm. The trainer carries a sneaker-like exterior but is injected with features for the outdoor sport. Like other Jordan trainers, it pieces different throwback elements from past releases.

Besides style, its performance on the course cannot be missed. The shoe features a spikeless construction that gives unparalleled grip on different surface areas.

Outsole

Spikeless without the slip. One of the golf-specific features that the Jordan ADG uses is the Integrated Traction outsole. It is a rubber material that is composed of different geometric shapes to help the bottom plant the ground firmly. As a result, the design draws reliable traction on different terrains and conditions to avoid slip.

Midsole

The Technology of the fast. The Jordan ADG uses the Zoom Air cushioning system. Even though this cushioning system made its debut 20 years ago, it only proves its unwavering reputation.

The unit is made up of tensile fibers that compress each time pressure is placed on the foot. It springs back to its original shape as it generates a powerful response.

Upper

Leather and mesh. The material used on the majority of the shoe upper is leather. The tongue, on the other hand, is built with a mesh material. It improves the fit and helps the trainer hug the foot comfortably and securely.

Fit. How the shoe fits is integral in one’s performance. The Jordan ADG sports a traditional lace-up closure to allow a customizable fit. The laces are integrated with the midfoot overlay to ensure that the foot is locked in tight. This design also enforces additional support to propel the foot to a proper swing.

The interior matters too. Inside, the shoe is lined with a partial sleeve to hug the foot. It improves the fit of the footwear by giving a sock-like feel.

Jordan ADG Style

The Jordan brand garnered the reputation of putting elements from previous models. Its spikeless golf shoe release, the ADG pays homage to three iconic Jordan models. Below are some of the basketball shoes and sneakers that served as its inspiration:

Jordan 3. The cement gray elephant print is borrowed from the high-top Jordan 3 version released in 1988. It created a loud entrance in the hoops community as it introduced the distinctive Jumpman logo. The elephant print is a collaboration of designer Tinker Hatfield and Michael Jordan. Because of its peculiarity, the pattern became identifiable to the Jordan brand and can be spotted on other Jordan shoes.

Air Jordan ST. The placement of the renowned elephant print is taken from the AJ ST. Compared to the inspiration, the ADG puts a significant emphasis on the sidewall. The triangular shape grants an exciting color contrast and breaks the color monotony of the product.

Air Jordan XI Concord. Other than the elephant print, the Jumpman came to be the brand’s identifier. The XI Concord was the first to sport the logo on the outsole. For the Jordan ADG, the massive logo is encased in transparent rubber, which provides another remarkable twist to Jordan’s golf line.

Fans of Jordans would know that black, white, and red play an essential role in its history. Without the use of these colors, the first Jordan model wouldn’t have garnered the popularity that it relished during its launch.

These hues are taken into account for the Jordan ADG. Two colorways are available for this model. Called the “Black Cement” and “White Cement,” both of these models used each color differently. Though each used black and white sparingly and abundantly, the injection of red remains consistent for both versions. Seemingly just a speck of color, the intense hue is done deliberately. The three Jumpman logos, seen on the tongue, heel, and outsole, can be spotted with red.
