Good to know

-This shoe is designed to make long walks bearable with its GEL rearfoot cushioning system that works well in absorbing impact. Additionally, the SpevaFoam midsole offers plush comfort and a high bounce rate.

-Lining the shoe interior is the Gore-tex Extended Comfort that protects the foot against rain or water.

-Its aggressive outsole comes with multidirectional lugs for enhanced traction on varying terrain. This shoe from Haglöfs also features a trusstic chassis for stability and torsion control, and molded rubber toe cap and rand.

The Mistral shoes are a low-cut model featuring a leather upper that conforms to the feet. It also comes with a web lacing system that makes it easy to adjust the tightness anytime, anywhere.

The Haglöfs Mistral outsole is designed by ASICS. It’s called AHAR Plus (ASICS High Abrasion Resistance Rubber), and it features aggressive multidirectional lugs that grip nicely on a wide range of surfaces.

According to ASICS, this outsole has three times more abrasion resistance than conventional rubber. What makes it more unique is the ASICS GEL technology in the heel. It works by reducing impact during heel strike and enhancing shock absorption during forward movement which results in less fatigue.

Sandwiched between the upper and the outsole is the SpevaFoam midsole also developed by ASICS. It’s made of EVA and it works by improving the bounce-back quality of the shoe and reducing pressure on the foot when running, thereby increasing walking efficiency. It’s also very durable and flexible.

For underfoot comfort, this shoe includes a removable footbed also designed and created by Haglöfs.

The Haglöfs Mistral upper is consists of soft oiled Nubuck leather and the Gore-Tex Extended Comfort waterproof membrane. Oiling enhances the natural waterproofing qualities of leather and also makes it more resistant to damage, abrasion, and scuffing.

The Gore-Tex membrane, on the other hand, works by creating a sealed barrier inside the shoe. It ensures that no external moisture comes in. Like other waterproof shoes, the Mistral GT can get a little too warm in really hot environments. Good thing, it’s a low-cut hiker so it won’t keep the feet toasty.

-Leather shoes benefit from regular cleaning and care. Oiled leather should be regularly treated with conditioner so it lasts for a long, long time.
