Giro Manta Lace: A women-specific, retro MTB shoe

In a market saturated with mostly male-based bike shoes, female-exclusive models are considered rare and special by many lady cyclists. One of these is the Giro Manta Lace MTB shoe. It is equipped with a last designed explicitly after the women's naturally narrower foot shape, which provides an optimal fit for the ladies.

Aside from the female-centric last, this shoe is also symbolic of being the retro version of the brand's Manta R model. The Manta Lace was born out of the demand for a lace-up rendition of the well-loved Manta R shoe.

Moreover, it is designed with essential mountain biking features, such as the following:

  • One-piece microfiber upper - prevents hot spots and yields optimal comfort
  • Reinforced toe cap and heel - protection against impacts and enhances durability
  • Lace-up closure with lace tuck - retro design and time-tested lockdown
  • Injected nylon plate and rubber outsole - adequate power transfer and high traction

Who is it for? The Manta Lace is suitable for the following cyclists:

  • Leisure mountain biker
  • Gravel rider
  • Indoor cyclists
  • Urban bike commuter

Other models you can check out

These next two models are female versions taken from originally men's MTB shoes.

Five Ten Sleuth DLX. This pair will better suit you than the Manta Lace if you are after flat yet extremely grippy MTB shoes. It will also appeal to you if you like a sneaker-like aesthetic.

Pearl Izumi X-Alp Flow. This Pearl Izumi model is also a flat MTB shoe, albeit not as grippy as the Sleuth DLX and not as stiff as the Manta Lace. It would resonate with casual cyclists who want a pair that looks like a running shoe.
