Vibram Rock is the name of the outsole responsible for giving wearers ample underfoot stickiness in the Agamura. It is based on Vibram’s XS Trek compound, which promises a balance between responsiveness and surface adhesion on a variety of terrain. Its designers gave it a multitude of lugs and long-wearing ridges for added slip resistance over loose soil. They also furnished its toe end with wavy treads for extra grip during smears.
The Garmont Agamura produces enough cushioning underfoot, whether on or off the trail, with its springy midsole. It is made wholly of polyurethane (PU)—a material known for its high durability and compression resistance. The heel portion of this component is thick and bouncy enough to give approach adventurers adequate shock mitigation on ground impact.
Right atop the Agamura’s highly resilient midsole is a cushy footbed for additional comfort. It is also made of PU.
What houses the foot in the Garmont Agamura is a low-top shell made of suede leather, which is 1.6 mm in thickness. It is lined with mesh fabric and cotton for an extra-snug in-shoe feel. Owners can easily slip in and out of its confines thanks to the synthetic pull loop attached to its heel.
It is in the Agamura’s upper where most of the a.d.d. components can be seen. Yes, the shoe’s asymmetrical cuff, differential ankle pads, anatomical tongue, precision lacing, and spacious forefoot zone make up Garmont’s Anatomically Directed Design technology.
The Agamura’s closure system is comprised of regular eyelets and a synthetic lace. Note that none of its eyelets are plated.
