Profile of the Axilus 2 Energized
Who is it best for? All-level players targeting a stable shoe for clay and hard courts might consider the Fila Axilus 2 Energized the best choice. This improved version has grown followers among entry-level and elite players due to these reasons:
- budget-friendly cost
- supportive forefoot cage system
- soft and breathable mesh
- stable midfoot bridge
- durable tread design
Updates to the Axilus 2 Energized
Durability. Fila made some slight alterations to the tread layout on the Axilus 2 Energized. The tread composition on the updated version is reinforced to stay long-lasting as it bears the brunt of repeated pounding on different court setups. The original model reportedly showed signs of premature wear, whereas the rubber base of the second version kept intact even after prolonged sets.
Upper structure. Both the first Axilus model and its subsequent model are built with a molded forefoot cage. The flagship model has a wide-open toe box that apparently caused some toe jamming. Meanwhile, the caging system of the second iteration is developed to be softer and more forgiving than the previous version.
Breathability. Both the previous and updated versions are built using breathable mesh. However, airflow is considerably made better on the Fila Axilus 2 Energized. The mesh configuration and synthetic cage overlay layout on the Axilus 2 are designed to keep the feet cool and dry even through long drills and extended matches.
Weight. Fila Axilus 2 Energized weighs a fraction lighter than the original model.
Rubber strength. Fila’s Evergrind tech is made up of carbon rubber in the crash-zone portion of the heel. This section is reinforced with metallic flakes so it can perform longer.
Underside traction. Such a durable rubber outsole is formulated with a modified herringbone layout that grips on different court surfaces. The rubber tread design is meant to assist the wearer in performing intense sprints and twists with reduced chances of slipping.
Outsole warranty. This trainer is backed by a six-month durability guarantee, which is an indication that the outsole is built with heavy-duty components. This one-time replacement guarantee is an assurance that the purchaser can have his shoe replaced if the outsole obtains considerable damage that resulted exclusively from playing the sport. The warranty is void if the cause of damage is due to mishandling and abuse.
Midfoot stabilizer. Tossing around the court can injure the foot if it isn’t amply supported right below the arch. The user might experience excessive rolling of the foot inward or outward without sufficient support at the midfoot. Fila introduced a thermoplastic polyurethane stabilizer to the Axilus 2 Energized as a stabilizing device. This underfoot support system functions as torsion control.
Underfoot cushioning. Recurrent foot strikes can cause discomfort and injury below the heel and ball of the foot. Fila incorporated its patented Energized rubber cushioning in the midsole to attenuate shock and evenly disperse the negative energy across the shoe.
Support and ventilation. The outer membrane is administered with synthetic and textile. The forefoot area is molded with a caging system for containment, even during extended hours on the court. These materials are fabricated to cater additional sources of support at the quarter. This region is also designed to allow air to permeate through the fabric and synthetic assembly. Another source of support comes from the molded heel cup that’s meant to stabilize the rear side from slipping.
Added comfort. For increased comfort, Fila integrated a padded tongue and heel collar. The molded sockliner and anti-slide nylon lining are also made to keep the foot secure and comfortable.
