Forest, California. Former professional skateboarder Pierre André Sénizergues took over it in 1989 soon after his career in the sport ended, making it the first skate shoe company owned by a professional skateboarder.

It also features a Rap Bar and an elastic heel band for enhanced support. It debuted in August 2013 at Active Ride Shop and other retail shops across Europe and the US as part of the STI Evolution Foam Collection, and the brand's Buy a Shoe Plant a Tree project.
In 2016, the Etnies Scout evolved into the Etnies Scout XT. An upgraded model of one of the crowd’s favorite Etnies skate shoes, the Scout XT boasts additional features such as Memory Foam insoles, spandex internal tongue straps for a secure fit, and muted reinforcements on the heel and quarter panels for enhanced stability and support.
